I didn't realize Dean's promotion (if you'd already told me, I'd forgotten) to Nixon's councel was so soon after the shootings.  How was Dean brought in to the DoJ?  Did Mitchell bring him in?

Well done, sis.  Looking forward to the rest of the series.  :-)

    •  don't know about DoJ (0+ / 0-)

I'm not sure exactly how Dean got his job at the Department of Justice. Something we should research. :-)

Dean was chief counsel to the GOP House Judiciary Committee in 1966 while Rumsfeld was in congress.  Dean was then appointed associate director of the National Commission on the Reform of Federal Criminal Law in 1967, wrote position papers for Nixon's 1968 campaign, and then was apparently rewarded with the DoJ job.

There's probably much to be learned with more research into John Mitchell's Justice Department. I have followed that as much as I could. Somehow, I guess I got lost in trying to figure out what happened at Kent itself. :-)

See, I left you a whole piece of the investigation. Enjoy!!
