    but some of the background is missing from your story, it may be in some of the links but they may not be available for some readers.

    1. This is an investigation by the Temporary Committee on the alleged use of European countries by the CIA for transport and illegal detention of prisoners that was set up after a vote in the Parliament on 18 January 2006. It is roughly equivalent to a Congressional Investigation. See this article at the EU Parliament website on the terms of reference.
    1. The current information came from Wednesday's regularly scheduled meeting of the committee at which the Rapporteur Claudio Fava presented the state of play in the preparation of his draft interim report.

    Today the committee is off to Macedonia to interview Khaled al-Masri. (BBC News)

    So far the text of Claudio Fava's statement is not available on the EU Parliament website.
