...there are in excess of 80,000 dKos users.  I had my copy ordered before February.

methinks there are a few lazy kossaks out there.

    •  Not lazy but poor (0+ / 0-)

Sorry, but to assume all of us just have $15 kicking around (according to amazon's price) and that we're lazy if we don't spend it is really naive.

Eg, I'm getting my masters degree in May, it's not a terminal masters, I'll be continuing to the PhD hopefully in 1 more year.  Just today I just found out Jon Stewart will be the commencement speaker so I want to walk in the ceremony.  But I don't have the $85 to pay to buy (not rent but buy) the friggin' cap and gowns required.

I've already fallen into debt at the beginning of my grad school years, luckily I caught myself before getting trapped in debt, and took out a loan from my schools credit union to pay off my credit cards with a reasonable interest rate.  I'm now very careful with extreanous purchases, I've got a basic budget going, and it's freaky how little room there is for excesses.

email me your address and I'll buy you a copy.  Or put it on an Amazon wish list and send me the link.

        •  Me too (0+ / 0-)

Nah.  But, that's pretty damn funny.

        •  Thanks alot for the offer! (0+ / 0-)

But I really can't accept it.  If you really want to buy someone another copy, please do so and give it to one of your friends.

But as for giving the book to an anonymous person over the net, well there are many more anonymous people out there in far more need of $15 items than me, and I'd really feel guilty taking such a gift.  So in that respect, I couldn't in good conscience accept it since there are hard-working people who can't pay the rent, or buy food, or these days even pay for gas to get to work.  I've got a budget, with small room for little luxuries like books, but right now that's going to be tight for a few months.   But in light of that, I'm fairly well off compared to many others.

So in that respect really couldn't accept it.  Thanks again for the offer, though.
