    First, we are far more adamant that our children complete an education. There are many, many boomers who continue to pay a price for their disillusion driven ennui in that era.

    Second, students know now that corporations and authoritive agencies will have a record of such involvement at their disposal 5, 10 or 15 years down the line. This will go on their permanent record.

    The stakes have been upped.

    The French example is more likely, as millions of immigrants discover they are too late, and the descent of the median class squeezes them out.
