I really am not aware of any histories or anthologies of stories of the "underground railroad" to Canada for Vietnam draft dodgers. Maybe they don't seem very dramatic. I know that, some weekend when I was in college, friend and I drove some guy I didn't know very well up to Detroit and across the bridge into Windsor where we had a late afternoon snack, said goodbye to him and went back. I can't remember if he had things lined up. It was just a road trip opportunity!

    •  Well, I think that 99,999 of 100,000 Americans (0+ / 0-)

don't even know that happened. I met a(nother) gal who'd been involved recently.

Seems to me the story (stories) should be told, so there is some record of it. It was illegal to help those people. Real kids took real risks for it, though perhaps some minimized it in their minds.

      Just saying.
