If you had a web page to raise money, why would you want to keep it a secret in the first place?

      ... it no longer is!

You can't buy this kind of publicity!

Not only does it publicize Herseth's contribution page FAR more widely than her campaign could have done even with its entire budget (it's a national issue, FCOL), but it makes the Reps look like real idiots.

Of course, it's true that it'll make the Luddites scowl and feel even more paranoid, but let's face it, she's not got a lot of votes to lose in that crowd anyway.

On balance, a wonderful bit of publicity.  Thank you, SD GOP!

The people that are scared of technology are very unlikely to contribute money or vote.  This might frighten a few old people in rural areas, but they are probably going to vote Republican anyway.

But that stereotype is disappearing too.  My grandma now has a computer, all of my aunts.  My MOM.  They only use AOL and Email, but they don't fear it as some malevolent tool.  I showed my mom a sewing and quilting forum and she visits that daily now.  She asked me to help her get a digital camera so she could take pictures of her work and post them.  I showed her how to use photoshop to crop and scale images too.

People are not a stupid as this Republican tool thinks they are.

There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty. --John Adams
