    of how conservatives love to keep driving a point into the wall because they want the correctness of their "logic" acknowledged as if reality were a bubble where no inconvenient realities or "emotional" values intrude.

    They love to make theoretical points of all sorts and then proceed to develop a comprehensive, "logical" system which applies to any situation.

    They constantly over-intellectualize, at the expense of values.  And they almost never consider unintended consequences.

    It's a sort of intellectual anal-retentiveness or OCD.

      I often like to say that logic itself is a human construct - the mathematics of which don't operate so well in reality.

      To me it doesn't matter so much how good your arguments are as what the consequences of those arguments are - and the appeal to Nazi practice only serves as a reminder that we humans have a a disturbing capacity to "rationalize" just about anything.
