    Don't they realise that their children are going to suffer as well. Noone will escape the consequences of global warming - the natural disasters, the giant emigration flows, the huge costs

    Wake the fuck up. How can the bottom line be more important than the survival of humanity? It's sick sick sick.

    Today "balance in the media" means a balance between political fact and conservative ideology.

      and decided that short term profit taking outweighs long term survival. Prior to that they decided that democracy was an impediment to profit, as it is supposed to be, and therefore set out to destroy it. Fascism has always had a greater appeal to egotistical megalomaniacs.

      their own disinformation. One of the things that killed the Soviet Union was a belief by the nomenklatura that they could change in effect, the laws of nature by bureaucratic fiat.

      They can change the reporting of scientific facts, as Bushco and the energy companies themselves have, but the underlying realities will always bite the society that tolerates disseminating information about how the natural universe works sooner or later.

      Unfortunately, it's our turn in the barrel this time.
