If Gore runs, we will need Feingold in the Senate more than ever.

That's not to say Feingold couldn't (or wouldn't) make a fine president. But I hope they can figure out to work together.

Yeah, yeah, i know: Gore/Feingold. But I think Clark would bring the military and national security spotlight, Gore the domestic policy - while Feingold continues his excellent work in the Senate with Lamont from CT. Let them all do what they are good at for the sake of Ameica.

    •  Losing Democratic Senators in 2004 (0+ / 0-)

to  a presidential run has been a painful price for this country to pay. I would discourage anyone who isn't a clear favorite to give up a seat or Governorship in pursuit of a long shot. Some of these seats were won by alot of hard work by the grassroots. It is a bitter pill to see hard work squandered by candidates who must choose between reelection and a presidential bid.

He's not up for reelection in 2008, so even if he runs, he wouldn't have to choose one over the other. If he loses, he still has hgis Senate seat, if he wins, WI has a great farm team ready to replace him, not that he can be replaced, much like Gaylord Nelson or Paul Wellstone.
