  •  Hi (0+ / 0-)

I'm really tired at the moment or I'd write something more eloquent and semi-coherent. Spent the last part of this week putting together a report with tons of exploratory data analysis (winnowed down considerably for comprehension by lawyers; also to get it done by deadline, heh) for two large soil sampling efforts in southern MI. I'm an environmental geochemist, dealing primarily in the transport, fate and remediation of contaminants in the subsurface. I used to work at one of EPA's research labs and have published in areas such as groundwater sampling (I did R&D that helped lead to low-flow sampling techniques), contaminant transport on mobile colloidal particles, permeable reactive barriers (geochemical mechanisms, reaction rates), etc. I'm currently in the private sector doing consulting for a company after running my own business for about 9 years, 7 of which I was an external advisor to Los Alamos among other clients. I used to live in Nevada, btw, moved to MI about 3 years ago. I wonder if there's any chance we know one another professionally?

Good to hear from someone with similar interests. You may be nerdier than me but that would be tough to do! LOL.

    Have a great holiday weekend.

Life isn't a battle between good and evil, it's a battle between signal and noise.
