    •  Watch it! Are you saying John Wayne spent (0+ / 0-)

time in a cage wearing a dog collar while being ordered about by a dominatrix?  You are going to end up in big trouble from the John Wayne fans...

tho i hear bill bennett does.

i was about to write "some women like to be spanked" and then i knew i'd get into a sh*tload of trouble from the orignal pie-fighters, so i changed it to the generic "people."

as for me, i say what people do in the privacy of their own dungeons is their business.

and i am a big duke fan.  if people look carefully at his films, he was always standing up for the little guy, and lived by the code of letting people make their own way in this world, unhindered by racism or bigotry.  he often stood up for the latino or indian (granted, he in many films warred against the indian tribes, but nonetheless respected their courage and integrity).

wayne has been misunderstood by the politically correct crowd.  and i believe maureen o'hara loved getting spanked by wayne in mclintock, and you'll notice she gave as good as she got.

Everyone thought Maureen Ohara getting spanked was "cute".  Good thing you didn't say "women".  I would have had to smack you - not that I'm a rabid feminist.

            but some people like it.

the problem is, as always, when people project the desires of two individuals onto the entire group of humanity.

and, just out of curosity, where would you have smacked me?  (j/k!)

is another movie that appears to be retrograde and antifeminist ("Here's a stick to beat the lovely lady!") but it's actually more complex than that.

It's about two very strong personalities who each have to make ego concessions and respect each other's boundaries in order to continue their relationship.
