Sorry, do not mean to hijack the thread, however poll workers are needed to count the paper ballots in Alameda County, Ca. 150 poll workers have cancelled their pledges to work, and there will probably be more fall offs due to sickness/accidents/plans falling through/whatever.

If you can work a full day, 6 a.m. - to 9:30 p.m. with 2 breaks, are a registered California voter, and can pass their brief interview, give this number a call (510) 272-6971 . It is a paid position.

If you have a car, can lift 30 lbs, can pass their interview, are a registered California voter, and can attend a 2.5 hour class on Monday, they may have positions of Inspector left call the same number (510) 272-6971. Paid position.

Happy voting, and if you can work, the voters thank you. I got an Inspector position, see you out there.

Jennifer Poole points out that a sizable amount of Democrats (5.7%)live/vote in Alameda county, and that fact may influence many state wide races on Tuesday.
