The biggest misconception about the current large media outlets is that they represnt the free press. People, I hate to say this, but the free press vanished more than 35 years ago.

Now it's a power stuggle venue for those who wish to have, what else, more power.

Newspapers use to have much more influence that they did, television owns those roads today, but it still remains a large force.

The blog's are America's greatest chance to break that hold, and many are extremely fearful of that. But, as long as the avenue to take over such blog's exist, or that the people that run them don't understand the vast majority of the general public's fears, then it will remain largely inaffective. Once blog's begin to become specialized, we will start to see success.

That Kossacks don't realize that the free press is dead?

      Really?

Just curious.  How old are you?

Well, it does exist, but is very small. The blog's however, still do not possess the structure that will allow general consensus among members. When specialization happens, that will happen.

By the way, ya little youngster you, there are now 7 major corporations doing just that to take control of memberships, one of my compnies is building one at this very moment.

Video, news outlets stations, prioritizing issues and still allowing people to post their thoughts, the current, and nearly only draw.

It's gonna change, and it's gonna change soon. The current blog structure is vunerable, and I am simply the messenger, so put the guns down.

Obviously you are far older and wiser than I and all the rest of us Kossacks.

We really have no idea that corporations are circling like wolves to to snatch up another income stream like the blogs.

Surely the government will protect us?

And of course no one here ever actually does anything but blog, innocent of the coming new master.

But I still think you are your dog.

so no offense taken. From your statements, I can see there is a consensus of thought, the threat is there. And, it's bigger than most percieve. That is the wisdom, and only wisdom I can offer to this.

This is why I am here. I know what's happening, because I am part of it through my businesses. A nesseccary step to achieve true action. I am only hoping that there will be some who also agree and would like to do something about it (as far as the structure is concerned).

I will, fund, support, lay the foundation of, and pay for in full, the things that would need to be done to compete and keep the enourmous edge currently enjoyed for kos, or any other venue that wants my support for the Democratic party and the progressives.

Because I make note of the current situation does not make me anything other than the messenger with money, and a willing party to keep that advantage in place and see it kept.

I didn't get where I am because I am a nice guy, I'm not, and will be the first to acknowledge that. But I am not without a moral purpose, and would like to see this threat seen more clearly and something done about it.

Perhaps a dog is some way, but a good dog all the same.

But you must realize that many of your statements are not news here and if you try to present them as some sort of secret knowledge, you'll just turn off a lot of people.

There are a lot of people here.  Many of them are highly active, not only in politics, but in their own fields.  Many hold senior positions in what they do.  Don't make the mistake of thinking everyone here is an inexperienced kid.  Or that we don't know what is going on in the corporate world.

You never know who might be reading what you say.  And I mean that in a good way.  President Carter, John Kerry, various Senators and other big movers and shakers post here.

In fact, I would suggest that if you are actually serious, you should think about going to Fred's symposium/East Kos.  I'm surprised you aren't at Ykos.  That's where you will meet a lot of movers and shakers.  Others with money, direction and drive.

Be sure to check out Fred's blog.  He's a serious player in the fight against the creeping fascism in America.

This is the run-along for so many kos conversations. Something we have allowed ourselves to delve into. Part of what people do, it's not a problem.

And, please know I am aware of what kos is and who is part of it. Been watching for more than a couple of years now, and this wouldn't be by any means, the only one I have kept an eye on.

I knew President Johnson very well and have met with others. I can't actually say I have personally known others, other than just in passing acknowledgement.

I've been around. Now, not everyhting in my life that I have done I am proud of. In fact alcoholism, tyranny and outright bad behavior have been part of my life. Let's just call it hands on experience.
But those who want to better themselves eventually will.

I'm not going to claim I am some big "mover or shaker" at least not publically, I don't fit the criteria's neccessary to achieve that type of public support. But I am learned, can admit my mistakes and will not quite when it comes to accomplishing what I want, and have accomplished things, even the great, "movers and shakers" would lend respect to.

Many already know who I am (I'm sorry to make this seem secretive), and I am serious.

You know, I want to point something out to you. If I had taken an approach to this article that was serene in it's approach, you would not be talking to me, neither would Frederick.

I got the attention I wanted. Now I would like to go from here. This is my style, my way, what I have learned over many years. If I truly want to make the impact that I intend to make, I would not be coming in as a novice pretending to know something or the other in a kind and predictable manner.

With that said, I do intend to make a difference. I do intend to change the way things are done. I do intend to lead in such a way that lends support to gaining usable consensus among members. When that is done I will disappear into the woodwork. And hope, that what I have intended to do, actually happens.

                Best Wishes

and know this place has my "in the back" support.

            •  I like dogs (0+ / 0-)

If you would like to talk, I would be interested. We have writers, but we could use some structural and financial help.

Both Leibling and Menken are credited with saying something to the effect that the only people who truly have a free press, are those that own one.

Well, I own one, two actually, and I am not afraid to use them.
