  •  Wikipedia and Anon Proxy (5+ / 0-)

Wikipedia admins block people who use anon proxies, even if there is a stalking problem that they are failing to do anything about. When combined with the new practice of "partially protecting" pages (to block anon proxies and newly registered users), this amounts to denying the "right to vanish" (a stated right on Wikipedia). In other words, you can only edit the page if you retain your old identity even if you have a crackpot using their watchlist and your history to follow you everywhere, leaving false accusations, replacing what you've said on "talk pages", and outing personal information bit by bit.

The EFF needs to talk to Wikipedia about the importance of anonymity in some cases.
