People who were going to be terrorists will still become terrorists.  People who weren't going to become terrorists won't become terrorists.  And we will still be stuck there for the forseeable future.

It means the Bush Administration will have to find a new Boogey man when bad stuff still happens.

Zarqawi killed innocent people.  Now he has been punished and can never again kill.

      That means something.

Seriously, this is like a Debbie Downer sketch from SNL.

      •  Not my point (0+ / 0-)

No, he can't murder anymore.  But will his death stop people from becoming terrorists?  Doubtful at best.

That statements like "Zarqawi's death means nothing" are far too negative.

          •  see above (0+ / 0-)

maybe negative but.....realistically, one murderer down does not solve the problem.....but I agree that it means something at least - the morale of our troops should ratchet up a notch or two which is better for them.  As far as victory in Iraq, Bush's job performance, or safety - his death means dick.

than would ever have if Bush had acted differently beginning 9/11/2001.

    •  In a way, both sides are correct (0+ / 0-)

I don't want to consider our legislators as terrorists, but let's look at an example using them.

Congressman Cunningham was a evil man, and we were all glad to see him arrested for his crimes.  Legislators would like us to believe that his removal completely or nearly eliminats corruption in Congress -- but K street lobbyists, the money from corporations, and the congressional whores are still in place to carry on their ways.

In the same way, we are all glad what's his face from Jordan is dead, but that is only a small part of what's wrong in iraq.
