kainah, everytime i read your intro:

At 12:24 PM on Monday, May 4, 1970, twenty-eight Ohio National Guardsmen pivoted 135 degrees and began shooting into a crowd of student protesters at Kent State University. By the time the shooting ended thirteen seconds later, the guardsmen had fired sixty-seven rounds and four students lay dead or dying with at least another nine having been shot.

i am once again a 17-year-old kid with shivers going up and down her spine. fiction could never be so riveting, though i wish this was exactly that--fiction.
thank you so much for not allowing us to forget what happened. it is only by remembering that we have any hope that it might not happen again.

    •  thanks for taking the time to read them all (9+ / 0-)

I know that's been no small investment and I do appreciate it, especially since I finally decided to stop worrying about length and to concentrate more on putting together a full record of the shootings and their aftermath.

To imagine that, initially, I thought this was going to be one diary. HA!
