  •  What reality? (0+ / 0-)

Is the suggestion that Bush allowed 9/11 to happen for political reasons?

I think the events of 9/11 happened due to the sheer incompetence of our president and his staff. I do not ascribe to the theory that they allowed it to happen so as to have an excuse to go to war - though it worked out that way. The same has been said, of course, about FDR and Pearly Harbor, and I don't really buy that, either.

    •  That is...'Pearl Harbor'...oops... (0+ / 0-)

"Pearly Harbor" sounds like a porn-star name.

I think Bush really didn't see it coming. Some guy reads him what sounds like a self-important, alarmist report he dismisses as frankly bogus. Which, of course, is criminally negligent not to have pursued the information. But golf came first and he resented having his vacation interrupted.

inaction can frequently be as effective as action.
They definitely wanted something to happen.

Please.  Enough on the incompetence angle.  The only way anyone can consider G.W. Bush to be incompetent is to misunderstand the goals and objectives of his administration.
Considering his goals to be to run the federal government into bankruptcy, to grant no-bid lucrative contracts to companies who supported him, to polarize the American people into the poor and the rich, to remove the health care, social security and other social and constitutional protections enjoyed by Americans, he has done a competent job.
