I have the dumbest box of rocks for brains representative who has such a hard time doing anything other than follow orders from the leadership and administration.  He ain't no independent thinker.  Actually, he doesn't think.
Asking him to voice an opinion other than Hasserts is really howling at the moonlite.
Manzullo only takes up space yet the yahoos around here keep voting the putz in.

      as does Frist.

      •  Not Enough To Bring It To The Floor (11+ / 0-)

Don't give these guys any cover.  This crap about "informal rules" not to bring any bill to the floor that's not supported by a majority of the majority means that a minority of Republican members of the House can hold up civil rights legislation.

If they supported the Voting Rights Act, it would have been extended by now.

Letting Republicans hide behind procedural dodges is a disgrace.  The House Judiciary Committee has held extensive hearings on the Voting Rights Act.  The House Judiciary Committee voted to approve extension of the VRA (including the bilingual ballot provisions) by a vote of 35-1.

If this bill contained a highway in Kendall County, the bill would be on the House floor right now.
