Among the members of John's advisory group is Ilona, a nationally recognized researcher on PTSD.

    PTSDCombat is her blog

The issue problem affects a huge number of those who served in Viet Nam and all wars since.  It is expected that those who served in Iraq will experience PTSD much more severely than any previous group.

Ilona is writing a book on it right now.  We partnered on one proposed PTSD project.

What does everyone think of DU and the medical problems for soldiers and Iraqi children?

Sen. Cantwell's resolution for studying the effects of DU on our troops explicitly and mysteriously excludes the most important aspect of DU munitions' toxicity: Uranyl Nitrate produced in high-temperature combustion of DU in standard use.  Someone needs to wake her up.

        of it recently.

Said that DU is a dirty bomb.

In other words, we've done the same damage to Iraq as if we'd set off a dirty atomic bomb there. We've coated the country with radiation.

        Bluntly: that's insane.

It also appears to be true. Which is a lot for any person with a decent heart to live with knowing about.

Nunna my beeswax, but I wouldn't talk about it much on the campaign trail. Too complex an issue. When elected, you can work on it.

FWIW, I had to read about it a number of times, over years, to really be able to face some of the basic facts about it. As, that the U part is vaporized on impact, thus inhaled, thus entering body.

Be good to each other. It matters.
