but something here is very fishy ... if she were as concerned as she claims, she'd have retracted and/or deleted this diary as soon as she realized her goof. Something is very wrong here.

    •  Could be a longtime troll... (3+ / 0-)

Or it could be that she just doesn't want to admit error.

Or she could be one of those people with a very simplistic set of ethics, and is ignoring any and all details that make the difference in this case between ethical and unethical behavior.

Either way, she's maintaining a dairy that accuses Kos of doing something when it's been pointed out several times the accusation is in blatant error.  That to me indicates that she isn't really interested in an honest discussion about this.

      •  A concern troll and ... (4+ / 0-)

Or it could be that she just doesn't want to admit error.

I think that hits the nail on the head.  She's more interested in her own ego than the noble "cause" she claims is so important.

        •  Could be a sleeper (0+ / 0-)

The diaries she's posted previously could have been a ruse. This is just too well-timed not to be the work of an operative.

          •  Hmm...that doesn't make sense. (0+ / 0-)

Think about that for a while. The fact that she posted a diary about the Brooks column after the diary appeared doesn't mean anything, in and of itself.

She's stubborn, has some critical-thinking problems, and almost certainly lied about researching the issue before writing, but that's not necessarily trollish.

This doesn't make much sense either unless it's a typo:

The fact that she posted a diary about the Brooks column after the diary appeared doesn't mean anything, in and of itself.

I have thought about it just as you suggest. I base my assessment on many years of experience moderating and running large online communities. If you read the entire thread with all her comments hidden and unhidden, there is no other possible conclusion one can come to except that this is a troll.

              •  Well, yes, there is. (0+ / 0-)

I have read all her comments, and I've concluded that she made a few mistakes, fears admitting fault, and has stuck to a failed course because to do otherwise is to concede the field to people she unfortunately now resents. I base this on many years of experience arguing with not-very-bright people, and (very) occasionally being one.

And yep, that was a typo. Should read: The fact that she posted a diary about the Brooks column after the column appeared doesn't mean anything, in and of itself.

                •  I could buy that if (1+ / 0-)

it weren't as easy as simply hitting the delete button - as she has been asked to do repeatedly - to make thread and diary all go away like magic with no explanation or admission of fault.

if you notice while reading the thread, several people really tried to be respectful of her and discouraged troll rating, and it didn't seem to do any good at all.  So yes, she could be resentful and yes, she could be a plant, or both.  But for sure, she is a troll, regardless of her motivation.

Is actually what I was getting at - trying to - or would have if it weren't 4 hours past my bedtime. Thanks.  ;)
