  •  I.e., don't trollrate facts! (11+ / 0-)

If somebody caught barrowstreet falsifying data, then by all means trollrate.
If barrowstreet posts FACTS, even facts we believe are to some extent cherry-picked, that's legitimate debate.

This is a reality-based community -- even those points of reality that we may not value for one reason or another.

      means are the ends, Snarcalita

Barrow does not falsify data, but he also does post data that are meaningless asides that have little or nothing to do with the topic at hand.

He compares apples to oranges, uses a link to make his data look relevant and important, and then makes fun of bonddad.

When challenged, Barrow then changes his stats - using different years, different definitions, throws up strawman arguments, very much like a shell game.

They do provide a debating point in that his distortions are so easy to disprove and bonddad hands him his head every diary.

Too bad Barrow has to resort to these very misleading stats and dishonest debate to support his Republican talking points, but as we all know Republicans have to resort to the shell game to fool America into thinking that Republican policies actually benefit them.

To quote our fine VP Cheney, "As we say in Wyoming, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," quipped Vice President Dick Cheney in a stump speech

BUt, that's the job of the posters to call him/her on it.  Barrowstreetdenizen seems to randomly select charts from any govt.  site.

The other day I posted a link to a BEA chart, and, boom, here comes a post with a link to a chart from the BEA.

It should be noted that the BEA fully contradicted what Barrow had to say the other day, but that wasn't any bother to Barrow.

Barrow is simply repeating Republican talking points.  Bonddad painstakingly posts his information and Barrow finds some  GOP talking point to counter it, only the talking point often has nothing to do with the original topic at hand, is irrelevant to the commentary and is often so meaningless that is laughable.

To put it crudely, he just pulls stuff out of his ass and pretends that it is an actual rebuttal to Bonddad.

The Republicans have ruined everything they have touched, our country has out of control deficits, a disastrous war with no exit plan, and energy prices that have crippled the economy; now they just want to change the subject.

There is no substance there, just talking points, shell games and strawmen.

Now we all know that Bonddad is the real thing and that Barrow is just another rubber stamp Republican trying to hide the real destruction of conservative policies.

He has no credibility here and we can thank Bonddad for that.
