On this theory, the president could continue to order wiretaps and surveillance in opposition to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act after a court had determined that he has exceeded his powers--he just couldn't use the evidence acquired in court.

But if he can order people picked-up off the streets and taken away without charges or court proceedings, then why would he even care about our courts.

This is starting to look like something very dangerous for the America we've come to know and love.

while gov. of texas, he ordered police to arrest protesters even though the protest was legal. but they were trying to raise an issue about an environmental law that many in the public did not know about. after the state legislature then voted to approve the law, in a close vote, the arrests stopped. Question was always what would have happened with that vote if the public and the legislature had been provided the information beforehand?
