    I mentioned in a post downthread that I've been involved with PPH. You cannot blame yourself for this. The symptoms are so subtle and insidious at first, no one, not even the person who gets the disease, really understands what's happening. I interviewed a patient who was a baseball coach -- one day he found he didn't feel like jogging 2 miles, and the next day he was in the hospital.

    Regular check-ups would not have discovered this. At best, your child might have been treated for asthma (which he didn't have). PPH in kids is so rare, most docs never see a case in their lifetime.
