I think trying to spot the "undermining effect" is more subjective so not sure if there's a quick method like voting record.

Mainly, pay attention to what they are saying, and call them on it. In the extreme cases of disconnect, organize and work for a primary challenger (i.e. in the Primary election)

I would like to have an objective method, just so it can't be messed with.  But I suspect that it would be difficult to do that, and that both parties would object.

The only remedy is to be alert, be knowledgable, and to use your judgment.

Patriotism may be the last refuge of scoundrels, but religion is assuredly the first.

Budgets and appropriations stuff I am sure is not.  And redistricting is another issue that is not easy to set objective measurements on.  I think to make things more objective and measureable, it would require changes in how the government fucntions, and that would be a tough row to hoe.

For now, I guess, we will have to hang out on DKos and get and pass the word the old-fashioned way.
