...using the photos of the tragic deaths of babies to gain support against repugnant behavior is in of itself repugnant behavior... a well-worded diary would have sufficed...

You're entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to think that your opinion is silly.  This is a diary about Freeper reactions to photos; you can't judge the reactions without seeing the photos.

The diarist overstates his case, of course.  They're not really "celebrating" (although, as I noted above, some of the comments come pretty damn close).  And his call to track down the real identities of these Freepers is a massive overreaction.  Nonetheless, the point of showing the photos is pretty obvious.  I'm not really sure why you're so enraged about it.

My mother taught me to never be afraid of the truth.  The truth is on your side, if you are on the truth's side.

innocent lives were lost without seeing such photos. Many of us have imaginations which are bad enough.

(as both you, Arken, and you, bic, know full well, but deny for reasons unfathomable to me) that most Americans don't believe it's true until they see the pictures.

Just like Abu Ghraib.  Far worse has happened, paid for by my tax dollars, but most Americans can't or won't admit it to themselves because they haven't seen the videos.

That appears to me to be the unfortunate reality.  Peace.  I gotta finish up 2 or 3 other threads and go to bed now.

Now, I'm not talking about unreachable Americans, the 20-25%.  They still think that Abu Ghraib was a frat-rat prank.

But for everybody else, Arken.  Are you telling me you seriously believe that most of them (50%+) even knew that Abu Ghraib existed before the photos hit the newspapers and nightly news?

I don't think you believe that.  But hey, tell me I'm wrong, and I'll re-evaluate my opinion of you.  A person learns something new every day, if they're lucky. Peace.

You are making personal accusations about me and are presenting no evidence to back up those accusations. I'm looking for a reason to not start troll rating you.

if it makes you feel good.

I've made no accusations about you whatsoever; I'm merely assuming that you have above-average intelligence (based on your writing) and trying to puzzle out why you attack diaries (like this one).  It baffles me.  Some people do Sodoku, I seem to be doing... this, and hoping to learn from it.  Peace.
