  •  I'd bet you'd write a great (0+ / 0-)

    diary.

I'm afraid (for me) Angelides hasn't been too inspiring thus far. And it's August. Who wants to do anything of real ooomph in August? (okay, maybe that's just me) That said, I've been reading a lot of diaries on various races across the country. I think it's easy to lose sight of them with all the other more juicy topics covered.

My hope - once Lieberman does whatever it is he's going to do, then the front page can focus on a wider range of races. But personally, I don't expect to truly be engaged in helping my local pols until September. August has always been an ooomph-less month for me.

There's a reason I don't diary that much.  I'm like Stan in the South Park movie:

Tomorrow night they're going to kill Terrence and Philip, and we think that sucks ass. So we're going to prank call a bunch of policeman and send pizzas to them that they didn't order. Viva la resistance.

I get you on the August thing...that's why I chose August to get married (anniversary's in 6 days).  And Angelides isn't anyone to get excited about, but he's really behind Arnold in the fundraising area and he needs all the help he can get.  I don't want Arnold as my gov. any more.

and don't leave - yet - every time I see you here I think, "There's the other jeweler lady" and smile to myself.

I do understand your frustration though. This place is a different place than once it was, but everything in life changes. It also feels different just because you're no longer new here, blown away by the astonishing varieties of knowledge and writing that you'd just discovered here. I think of all the things I've learned from reading here.....

On the other hand, I think the hugeness has its uses too. We are a big foot in politics now, it's a question of using it to take the right steps. We're growing so fast that some growing pains are inevitable. But if I survived the Pie Fight, I'm certainly willing to hang around until after the midterms, just because this place can be such an efficient clearinghouse for info.

My strategy for dead-horse abuse, and definitely for I/L/P diaries? I just don't read 'em.

I got married in the dead of winter because I knew, heat, humidity, dressing up, stress = me murdering somebody.

I'll drop some coin on Angelides and agree that Ahnold needs to go. I can't imagine anyone could out-fundraise Ahnold. We need a good scandal for him just before the election. I can't imagine, even after all of this time, the police, teachers and nurses hold Grop-Gov in high regard. Arnie may find out that grudges are a bitch. (I hope.)
