      for the news on this to get worse than it is for it to get better. This is a HUGE freaking oilfield they're shutting down and they wouldn't shut it down on just the information we've gotten so far.

      As an aside, corrosion control contracts are given out to companies who do that. BP buys that service from someone.

      Expect some lawsuits and considering the effect upon Alaska's tax base, even temporarily, perhaps even some criminal charges.

      This is a big freaking deal.

          Lot of small companies. There used to be corrsosion control chemical companies that were wholly owned subsidiaries of the majors. Not anymore... for whatever reason.

          Tough business to make money in for a lot of reasons.

          Something like this could literally stomp a chemical company into a hole... along with several small specialty engineering firms.

          This is VERY bad news for some folks.
