    Wikipedia says the Shihabs were  Sunni Muslims, while Cedarland.org claims they were Druze.

    Great Diary, just one thing I'd like to clear up, Sunni is a religion of course, while Druze is an ethnic group. The Druze are Sunnis, so hence, they are both. 30% of Lebanonese are Christians, 30% are Sunni Muslims, and 40% are Shia Muslims. Lebanon is one of three countries with a Shia majority, those being Iran with 90%, Iraq with 60%, and Lebanon with it's 40%. Good work.
