  •  Media Attention (12+ / 0-)

The media has been all over this story of late. Very late. Things happened under their nose, and they missed it, so they are scrambling to catch up. They are not used to people powered campaigns, and candidates that use principles to define themselves rather than issues. Since they don't understand it, they use the simplistic notion that it must be blogs. Yeah, that's it, blogs.

Jeffrey Feldman has a great diary Frameshop: Lamont Is About Principles--DC Doesn't Get It that address this concept.

I think we are changing the way America discussion important topics of the day. For that, we are participating in a world altering process.

Democrats want better government, government that serves real people and not just those with power and influence. Nevada Appeal, Carson City NV

I'm not telling anybody what they should do, I'm just saying that's what I would do.  Fuck 'em.  Especially if Lamont wins.  Give them a taste of what they can expect once Democrats are back in control.  The media enabled BusCo and the right for far too long.  Stonewall the fuckers.

I realize there are other takes on this, that's fine, but even once the media gets up to speed they will be relentlessly negative.  I'm in favor of not giving them anything to work with.  Let them figure it out for themselves.

info gap. CBS evening news has definitely toughened up its criticism of government handling of Iraq and Lebanon/Israel. On Iraq CBS quoted the generals more than one evening, and Schieffer grilled Hagel and Dodd Sunday. Bob Hebert keeps up what heat he can in the NYT, with the occasional filip from Krugman.

If MSM wants viewership or readership they are going to have to resume their position as a proper Fourth Estate, or continue to go down in flames. MSM is being pulled further left by its audience. For decades we have had the right haring on the so-called liberal media. Now the corporatized MSM will either publish more relevant news or perish.
