Exxon has history of obfuscation, deception and delay in its dealings with courts. Remember the Exxon Valdez oil tanker spill, which dumped 11 million gallons of crude oil into Alaska's Prince William Sound in 1989, devastating the local fishing industry? A jury rendered a verdict against Exxon for $5.3 billion in 1994. Exxon has been stalling that verdict for well over a decade in numerous appeals and has not yet paid a dime of the jury award.

This is the last I have on the appeal. There maybe more at the Seattle Times archive or the Post Intelligencer. (I love two daily newspaper towns-- it means free archives. YAAAY!!
