  •  I'm sick & I don't get this drive by thing (5+ / 0-)

Help, I've wracked my (compromised, I grant you) effing brain for like 10 minutes but I can't fathom what the heck it means. Could you e'splain for me what 'drive by media' is suppose to mean in this instance? Just don't get too polysyllabic on me as my entire head hurting something fearsome; I didn't even assimilate the diary too well, to tell the truth -- I tried but m head is pounding and my eyes are practically crossing so I ended skimming it and (so frustrating!!!). Plus I have sieve brain syndrome. It must be the Nyquil.

Is there one essential Lieberman diary from today that in your opinion is not to be missed? say, INterpretations of his loss, prognostications about how the Dem mop might flop RE who's is (or ISN'T) backing him as an indie? any other wrinkles I'm not thininking of right now? The mere thought of reading is torture but I have to know.

    thanks a bun,

P.S. If you don't SEE this post until Wednesday mid-morning/noonish, don't worry about posting back because I'm sure I'll be okay by then. I had better be.    :-)

    God bless our tinfoil hearts.

    •  just get some sleep man! (gal?) (5+ / 0-)

You'll sort it out once you're nicely rested. Have a good dream for me!

    •  part 2 (4+ / 0-)

after all, it'll take a day for things to sort themselves out, eg how many influential armtwisters get in touch with JL & try to talk him into withdrawing gracefully.

      •  Agreed, but as Inigo Montoya might have said (4+ / 0-)

I don't think that word ("gracefully") means to Nonono Joe what you think it means.

The only scenario in which I can foresee Loserman backing out (or, more properly, not filing) is if his buds in the CT Democratic Party guarantee him an uncontested primary for governor in '08. There are three problems with that:

        1. After losing to a first-time candidate, chances of him having an uncontested primary are nil.
        2. He may still have his sights set on a presidential run in '08.
        3. He fervently believes the Senate seat is his, and not just on loan from the people of Connecticut (who, by the way, just told him to give it back).

        •  'relatively' gracefully (4+ / 0-)

yr pts are all hanging on a few factors that may or may not clarify themselves in the next few days - public explicit support for JL or its absence, tangible support for Lamont, the flow of public sentiment- eg, a huge national groundswell to the Dems due to some extraordinary Bush screwup (which should completely undercut Joe); we'll see - politics is the "art of the possible" after all.
