    he essentially said that it was his moral obligation to the party not to accept the primary result, and he will run as an indy.

        A lot of true dyed-in-the-wool Democrats will not want to split their tickets, so Lamont will probably pick up a few Democratic voters.  Moreover, few Lamont supporters will switch to Lieberman.  Some disinterested voters may want to jump on the winner's bandwagon.  Republicans probably won't vote for Lieberman in large numbers, though this is the wild card in the election.  Most independents are against Bush and the war, and so Lamont will pick up most of them.  I see Lamont winning something like 45% against 40% for Lieberman and 15% for the Repug candidate.

          in his camp who can tell him to know when to quit. He will further embarrass himself and leave the political scene a total disgrace.

          Maybe Fox will hire him and he can continue his campaign against Democrats over there.
