I love it, and so do my cats.

So who thinks the strategy is to win as an Independent then switch to Repug. in exchange for Mehlman's help. It makes sense if Lieberman plans to retire in 6 more years, as obviously he could do it once but never get away with it again.

Let's see; not 24 hours since his loss and defection from the Democratic party, and we've got Rove involvement, WH statements, and a disaffected Democratic former campaign staff gone, poof.  Lieberman's toast, but it is interesting watching who's willing to go down with him.

Like in the cartoon where Daffy and Bugs try to outdo each other in vaudville acts.  Daffy comes on last in a devil suit and proceeds to narrate his own ingestion of gasoline, tnt, gunpowder, and nitroglycerine before dropping a lit match down his throat.

Punch line:  They both end up in heaven, with Bugs congratulating Daffy on winning, but Daffy says:

"Thankths, but you can only do it ONCE!"

"How can it be that we elected a 10-year-old President and 4 years later he is STILL 10 years old??!!"

he doesn't need to switch, just keep voting the way he usually does.  no one will even notice.
