    Here's mine:

Sen. Lieberman should drop out of the race for Senate so that Democrats can concentrate on defeating the Republican challenger. Rank and file Democrats have moved on to take their own positions on issues ranging from the war in Iraq to how to handle the economy. They've started cleaning house of politicians who haven't moved with them.

The "mine, all mine" era is over. As voters discover that cutting government in the wrong places can sometimes mean wrecking the country, they've started to recognize the virtues of pulling together as a community. Mimicking Republican positions is not a sound strategy for Democrats, and it's good that Connecticut voters found a candidate with fresh ideas. Lieberman can help the cause by gracefully bowing out of the race and graciously supporting Ned Lamont.

I might add that, as for the Republicans, they can spin it any way they want, but it's a loss for them, too. The proximate cause of Lieberman's defeat might have been the war, but the real power source is the new stirrings in Democrats unsatisfied with near-Republicans, tepid campaigners and people who can't see the virtues of progressive ideas. That force is going to grow and all candidates who don't get on board will feel the voters' wrath.
