  •  I am as far from 'radical' as one can be.. (7+ / 0-)

Nearly 50, born and raised in Portland,OR.
Today I've been married 28 years!
Registered as a Democrat in 1975, switched to Independent in 90, back to Dem in in 2000.

A deep concern of mine is public education , and I am dead set against any school vouchers. The NCLB act has really harmed our schools here, especially our HighSchools. I have two grown sons who did well in the system (before NCLB), and a 11 year old who is entering 6th grade soon. I fear for HIS future.

Another deep concern is the way this administration has thrown away America's great reputation and how our foreign policies seem to always end up harming millions around the world.

Global warming, rising energy costs and housing and job markets scare the hell out of me. My husband and I should be able by this time in our lives to NOT worry about retirement which is just around the corner. But we do-a lot.

I believe our only hope for a decent future lays with the election of many Democrats, enough to take back the House, Senate and the Presidency in 08.
I'm willing to work to make that happen. We have little cash left over to give, what little we do we are giving to help elect Dems.

DailyKos has made me aware that there are hundreds of thousands of people just like me in America--those who love our country and want to preserve the Democracy we rose from. It is too precious to have it stolen by the current administration. People matter MORE than corporations.
