It's a stroke of genius.  There are alot of fiscal conservatives in CT.  Very few social conservatives.  The more they see this guy is one of them the more likely they'll vote for him and not Joe.

SAY NO 2 JOE. VOTE 4 NED INSTEAD!!! -8.50, -7.59

We must reframe the national debate, not just accept Republican/conservative framing even if it might bring us some short term victories. That's the lesson of the Clinton years.

Today "balance in the media" means a balance between political fact and conservative ideology.

"Fiscally conservative" USED to mean that you thought the government should spend as little money as possible.  But years of Republican abuse (i.e. deficit spending secondary to idiotic tax cuts) have made the phrase ambiguous enough for us to abuse as well.

If you're talking on Fox News, I think you have the right--hell, the DUTY--to drop the word "conservative" whenever you conceivably can.  Not only does it attract the respect of Fox viewers, but it also tweaks the shit out of Repugs for violating conservative principles--reminding viewers that the GOP no longer has ANY legitimate claim of fiscal conservatism.  This, my friends, is HELLACIOUS framing.

Everything else in the interview was spot on.  Ned and Wes Clark are proving that ALL good Democrats (hear me, Howard?) need to have the guts to go on Fox and fight for our cause.  After all, it's part and parcel of the 50-state strategy.     - Exposing the Soft White Underbelly of Psychiatry
