I've been reading and following meth stories when I can for some time now, as it seems to be creeping from West to East.

If anyone has not seen the Frontline special on meth, I would recommend it.  I think it focused on Oregon's meth problem and what they have done, but it also discussed trends and stories nationwide.

I also heard an NPR report about an extremely agressive, graphic and successful ad campaign in either Montana or one of the Dakotas.  There are things that are working against this awful drug.

This is an issue that has been nearly ignored in Washington and it is taking lives every single day in this country.  Meth is a horrible, horrible, horrible drug from all I've seen and read.  It's great to hear AZ is having success in combatting the proliferation.  Kudos.  May other states learn from and share their success.

    •  the other amazing thing is the mexico super labs (4+ / 0-)

In the past 10 years, psuedophedrine sales to Mexico worldwide jumped by 2\3rds. Somehow...I don't think that Mexico suddenly trippled its cold sufferers.

They sent people in to multiple pharmacies that claim to have purchase limits.  No so.  They were able to buy as much as they wanted.  Mexico is a MAJOR problem on the meth front.  One more reason it would help if we had a single dimplomat left in this administration and try to deal with Mexico on  this issue (or the myriad countries and issues out there crying out for attention).
