    and part of me agrees with it -- it the past, I would have mostly agreed with it.

    But I'm very, very disturbed (though not particularly surprised) that folks here find such glee in the Man Who Represents the Big Change-a-Comin' kowtowing to Wall Street and, as philgoblue has observed, basically presenting himself as an Eisenhower Republican.

    Even if you like Ike, his politics were formed by living in a country with many folks far, far to his Left playing an active role in politics.  The GOP nominated him because he was the furthest right they felt a candidate could go and still win a national election.

    And now the extreme-of-rightwing-electability has become the extreme-of-leftwing-electability.  This is not something to celebrate in any way, shape, or form.
