In fact, in the era of too many VCs, even those without  their own money still seem to be able to afford ridiculously lavish corporate cultures (F*ckedCompany, we miss you) until they fall apart.

The point is not did Ned start out with a shitload of cash and opportunities you and I could only dream of. There's no denying he did. The point: did he make good on it? And again, there is no denying that he did.

He could have been a ne'er do well, as the black sheep of the marginally wealthy Bush clan did, partying his fool ass off. But instead he built a business in a competitive, tech-intensive arena. We're still waiting for W's first success.

So Lamont's no rags to riches/success story like Clinton or Clark or Edwards. He's more in the Kerry/Dean mold. But he took his talents and grew them, and that's what Jesus loves so I don't know why Repubs don't embrace him as one of their own.

Oh wait, I do know! They're for plutocracy, not meritocracy.
