    In nineteen sixty two my sociology prof at the U of  I told us the nation state was dead and that it was corporation that would it’s replacement.  I wish I had paid more attention to him.  And the beat goes on.

      Corporations are the prevailing institution of our day and there is much that can be done to deal with them. Your professor was prophetic, but only slightly, because that trend had actually been occuring since the after the Civil War.

      Also, 1962 was also the year that the jingoist Kennedy administration began its bombing campaign of South Vietnam, the true target of the war being the South Vietnamese NLF. That is something that I bet is being left out of virtually every history class taught in America today, though you may remeber some the details. If that is the case, please feel free to share them on this post - they are highly appropriate.
