  •  Most everything Joe has touched has turned to (11+ / 0-)

stone.  He really is a miserable Senator.  I am not sure why Connecticut put up with him for so long.  How many elections has he talked about better healthcare and how many years has that never come to pass?

His deference and simultaneous deflection of any responsiblity for his actions and inactions is just maddening.

That freakin' "blame game" meme - even more.  People dying for days without help or hope is no fucking game.  You can say it about Iraq too.

    •  Healthcare, Lieberman the Optimist (8+ / 0-)

I don't won't to get too far off topic but since you brought up healthcare here's Joe Lieberman in a 1990 Heritage Foundation interview on healthcare:

Lieberman: We haven't figured out a way to put a cap on these rising health costs. We don't have the governmental resources to pick up the whole system and solve everybody's problems; it's great to talk about that kind of dreaming, but it's not going to happen.

The US government spends more per-capita on healthcare and than any country on earth. Unlike other countries the US fails to cover fully 15% of it's people, over 45 million people at last count. But Joe Lieberman thinks  supporters of universal coverage are "dreaming" and has for 15 years.

      •  Well that quotation is just an example of his (7+ / 0-)

pattern of being a slacker.  His management of Homeland Security has been exactly that.  Yeah we have nuclear facilities, ports, blah blah blah making us vulnerable, but its too much to do it all and god forbid we'd make the power companies running th nuclear plants spend a dime on security for their facilities.  He is all talk and no action.
