    it's easier to make money speculating in real estate, mutual funds and stocks than it is through wages.

    That needs to be reversed, and pronto.

      suggestions?

      me? i'm not fond of any notion that the government should be a primary source of venture capital, though they've managed to provide some seed money for successful projects, most notably in scholastic-instution-based research. they likely will have a key role in kick-starting alternative energy development.

      be careful, though, about what you pray for ... it may not be at all easy making money speculating in real estate over the next decade ...
