  •  Thank you, Polydactyl... (5+ / 0-)

This is magnificent, stunning, maddening, stark, rich, and painful and so much more all at the same time. Heartrending.

I wish we could have done better by you all on the Gulf Coast.

plenty you could teach us all about dealing with post-traumatic stress in the gulf.  The health care system across Mississippi and Louisiana is in a shambles at a time when we need it the most.

I quit my second job when I felt that "truck parked on my chest" and sensed I was in trouble.  Spent more time with my family and more time on myself.  Not everyone can do that, and not everyone knows the symptoms before you spin out of control.

I always hoped someone would pick up the Katrina PTSD cause because there's such an incredible need for an advocate in that area. I don't think I could do it justice, since the combat variety is a whole other ballgame. I can't even imagine what the trauma must be for people not only to lose a home, but to lose an entire neighborhood, to lose and entire city like that. The depth of the loss, the scope of the tagedy just boggles the mind.

My heart goes out to all of you that have had such a difficult year. And I absolutely applaud you again on your work in educating us on these issues that just do not get enough attention. Sending you a warm hug...
