You want to know why Democrats have more trouble than they should in states like Idaho? Offhand comments like "and out-and-out wing-nut crazy (and that's saying a lot in Idaho)", that's why.

I met only 1 - and he was originally from Southern CA. When I mentioned him and his gun store to others they went - 'Oh yeah - he's a Californian'!

Most of the people we met are native to Idaho for several generations. Won't live anywhere else and are as average as you can get...

Let's give up the 'Idaho' designation...wingnuts are wingnuts...wherever they are...not an entire state.

All the problems we face in the United States today can be traced to an unenlightened immigration policy on the part of the American Indian. Pat Paulsen

This is the state that almost returned convicted felon George Hansen to Congress in 1984. He lost by less than 200 votes.

Didn't mean to offend, but Idaho crazy really is an entity unto itself. Other Idahoans (particularly the natives) will get that.

there's out-and-out-wing-nut crazy everywhere. You're buying into too much b.s. about Frank Church's home state, and it shows.

Well, I was raised in Idaho, in the same town my mother was born in, and I don't get that. There are conservative people, but that's not crazy, it's conservative. And like everywhere, there are nut cases. But those who are level headed, which is most voters, don't listen to people who insult them. Plain and simple, we lose votes when we insult the voters.
