  •  Do you live in California? (0+ / 0-)

In California, if the Republican canidate is not a wingnut, it absolutely, 100% is about who has the most money.  Period.  It's how it works in this state, unfortuantly.

Hopefully, Angelides is saving his money for a post-Labor Day ad blitz, because right now, Arnie is slaughtering him on the airwaves.

And yes I do live in California.  I'm sorry, but you strike me as extremely politically naive.

I decided to find a California race where the candidate who spent less won.  Guess what, I didn't have to back too far.  In fact, the most recent election in the State provides a clear example:

Westly outspent Angelides $31 million to $20.6 million (link).  I think we know who won.

And in looking for that article, I came across this one:

Interesting Headline: Schwarzenegger Slightly Ahead of Angelides in Fundraising.

"Slightly" seemed like an important word to me there.  Why do we feel the need to bash Angelides' chances at every opportunity?  Why don't we actually look at the facts?

      •  Alright (0+ / 0-)

The Dem primary is a counter example, true.

But Angelides actually aired some ads during that race.  He's basically off the air now, and Arnie is on on every commercial break.

        •  I think we over exagerate number of commercials (0+ / 0-)

I don't watch a lot of TV, but based on your statement "Arnie is on every commercial break" would suggest that I would have seen at least a few commercials for Governor GrabAss in this cycle.  I have not seen one.  I am not saying he is not out there, but I feel we may be overemphasing his impact, at the moment

      •  Primary vs General (0+ / 0-)

I'm not saying I completely disagree (yes I live in CA) with the idea of more money wins, but you can't really compare a general with a primary...organization and party support carries much more weight in a primary!
