    Maybe it's lukewarm support from the Democratic base for Angelides that's eroding his chances in the fall.

    Maybe we have a bad candidate? I don't know, I haven't seen anything from either candidate because I don't watch local TV ever. By the same token, I didn't pick up any negative campaigning in the primary so I wasn't as ill-disposed to the victor as some parties seemed to be.

    Me, I think Westly would've been a stronger candidate in the fall, but Angelides is a good guy and would be a competent governor.

    Moral of the story: don't be vindictive about primary fights. Support the party's nominee whole-heartedly. Just like in, oh, Connecticut.

    Got to be consistent here, my friend.
