Brian Williams did a good job last night of remembering Katrina. For myself, the sight of the people in NOLA and along the Gulf was a politically transforming event. Nudged by Terry Schiavo, the hurricane blew us all the way over the fence to reexamine our values of how we, as a nation, should be prioritizing. Today is my first anniversary of that transformation. And I'm not looking back.

Please be aware that we are conscious of your plight every day, and we will not stand down until the there is a change in the course of the country.

What happened in NOLA and Gulf Coast could happen (in some form) anywhere in the nation.
