    I emailed McKibben suggesting that the walkers not only talk loud in the public square but also do demos of simple solar and energy conservation technology.  One of the simplest and best demos is a floating solar fountain and a wash tub.  You can put that together for less than $100.     I also suggested that the walkers download some of the old WWII posters extolling resource and energy conservation like this one

    McKibben emailed me back that he is interested in the WWII poster idea and might use it on the march.  I hope so.

    If folks did solar and energy education at such local events as the 3700 farmers markets that happen every week around this country from now until the end of growing season, we could make a real difference in energy use for hundreds and thousands of families.  

    We need the marches.  We need the legislation.  We need to hold the politicians accountable.  But most of all we need to change our relation to energy and the environment and we each can do that one little step at a time.
