  •  Rumsfeld was in the Navy (1+ / 0-)

Rumsfeld was a Naval aviator from 1954-1957 in between wars (Korean armistice was in 1953). Rumsfeld is still an A-1 a**hole, but he was active-duty Navy for three years. And he has no combat experience because there was no combat to experience at the time he was in (wish I could say that was true now for our brothers-in-arms). But he still served in the active-duty military, which is more than most of those Republican war-lovin' neo-con dipshits can say. So heaven knows there are tons to justifiably criticize Rumsfeld about, but please tread carefully regarding his military record--since he is one of the few in this administration with one. (Wikipedia has this info about him.)

    •  I don't think military service really counts... (0+ / 0-)

If you spend your entire time, like Rumsfeld did, "touring" the undershorts of his "betters", in a crouched position under their desk.

Hence, the "jowls" on the ole boy.

Bush couldn't manage a pay toilet, much less a country.
