  •  I think Nancy Pelosi said this week... (5+ / 0-)

there are already plenty of terroist cells already in the USA so the point of having to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here is ridiculous. No, we will be attacked again because this Administration chose to spend billions in Iraq and ignore our domestic security issues.  They keep repeating that one line over and over again but never say how we would have to fight them over here.  Would we be invaded by an Army? Would the terrorists float some pirate ships over to our shores??  Would they bomb us with their imaginary planes??  Now the drum beat to invade Iran grows louder and they are spewing the same exact lines they did right before we invaded Iraq only now they don't have the intense fear they instilled with the Americans and they know it.

    •  ... and the threat from Iran is unfortunately (5+ / 0-)

more real than the one from Iraq ever was.  Someone here on DKos made the point that before we invaded Iraq, Iraq was keeping Iran from becoming more aggressive.  Now we have to take over that role ourselves.

One of my big problems with invading Iraq (among many others) is that what Hussein used to do, now we either do or must do.  Hussein used to kill lots of innocent Iraqis; now we bear the moral responsibility for doing that.  Hussein is currently on trial for his killing of innocent Iraqis; will Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, or Powell ever be held accountable for theirs?

Now it is our job to fix Iraq's obliterated infrastructure.  Now it is our job to quell the sectarian violence that Hussein's authoritarian regime used to hold in check.  Now it is our job to hold Iran at bay.  Thank you oh, so f*cking much, Neocon President, for creating so many new sinkholes for our tax money to fill.  Because our money is far better spent overseas keeping Iraqis from killing each other and keeping Iran from taking over the Middle East than it is providing health care, social security, or welfare here at home.

      Man is my blood boiling!

This is the first President I am afraid may refuse to leave office at the end of his term. --oscarsdad, December '00
